1-on-1 individualized tutoring for higher ISEE scores
The ISEE is the Independent School Entrance Examination, and it's used for admission to private middle schools and high schools. If you're looking to attend an elite private middle or high school, this is a test you'll need to do well on.
Different levels of the test are offered depending on where you are in your education. The Upper Level is designed for applicants in 9th grade and above. The Middle Level is for applicants in 7th and 8th grade, and the Lower Level is for applicants in 5th and 6th grade. No matter which level, the ISEE contains the same sections—Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Mathematics Achievement. The test also contains an unscored essay that is sent to the schools you're applying to.
The ISEE is an extremely difficult test, and each level—Lower, Middle, and Upper—is designed to challenge multiple grade levels. Because of this, there is material on the test that you are not expected to know.
The ISEE has the hardest math section of almost all high school entrance tests: it's well beyond what any 8th-grader could be expected to know at the time of the test.
One of the most daunting elements of the ISEE is its length. For example, the middle-level ISEE exam has 5 sections and a total testing time of 2 hours and 40 minutes. The time constraint gives you little time to consider possible answers.
In Verbal Reasoning and Reading Comprehension, your vocabulary level will determine how well you do in "word-in-context" questions. Also, the actual reading passages on the ISEE tend to be longer than any of the published practice ISEE tests.

On average, our instructors have over 10 years of teaching experience. They have taught hundreds of students from different backgrounds and clocked thousands of hours in the online classroom. They have helped innumerable students improve their scores significantly.
Our tutors will support you through the entire ISEE prep process, from test registration to test result analysis. We will help you with the following:
—Learn about the ISEE test format and content.
—Set a score goal. However, the scoring system on the ISEE is notoriously complicated—1-9 stanine scores cannot be reliably converted from scaled scores because these scores are relative to other test-takers in the same grade who are applying to the same private schools. For this reason, we suggest focusing on setting goals on the percentage of correctly answered questions.
—Work through practice exams and grade them for you.
—In the weeks leading up to the test, ensure your score is where you need it to be.

Generally, a good ISEE score is a Stanine Score of 7, 8, or 9. Stanine Scores of 4, 5, and 6 are considered average, and scores of 1, 2, and 3 are below average. However, the comprehensive answer to this question depends on several factors, including the schools you apply to and how selective they are.
The schools are most interested in the stanine scores. Stanine scores separate students into nine groups, making it easy for them to be compared to other test-takers and average ISEE scores.
ISEE scores are only one component of a student’s application. Schools also consider an applicant’s school grades, extracurricular activities, teacher recommendations, essays, etc. Outstanding ISEE scores do not guarantee to get a student admitted into a competitive school if the rest of the application is weak. However, a low ISEE score may not seem acceptable for some private schools.
Both the ISEE and the SSAT are used for admission to private middle and high schools and test Vocabulary, Math, and Reading Comprehension. Many schools will accept either test for admission, giving you the option of choosing the test that suits you and your abilities better.
The major difference between the tests is how they test your abilities in each exam section. The ISEE uses synonyms and sentence completion to test vocabulary, while the SSAT uses synonyms and analogies. The reading passages on the ISEE tend to be longer than those on the SSAT, but the SSAT includes a broader range of genres, including poetry. The ISEE also places a heavier emphasis on mathematical reasoning than the SSAT does. If the schools you’re applying to will take either test, choose the one that’s better suited to your abilities.
